First: the government platforms, when the authority issues the document itself

قبل البحث عن أي نموذج، اسأل سؤالاً واحداً: هل الجهة المختصة تصدر هذا المستند أو توثقه بنفسها؟ إن كان الجواب نعم فلا مكان لنموذج خارجي، والطريق يبدأ من المنصة الرسمية. هذه هي الحالات الأشيع في حياة المنشأة.

Before looking for any template, ask one question: does the competent authority issue or authenticate this document itself? If the answer is yes, an outside template has no place, and the path starts at the official platform. These are the most common cases in a business's life.

• عقد العمل: منصة قوى، التابعة لوزارة الموارد البشرية والتنمية الاجتماعية، تقدم خدمة توثيق عقود العمل، وتوثيق العقد عبرها مطلوب من منشآت القطاع الخاص. تُدخل المنشأة بيانات العقد من أجر ومسمى ومدة وإجازات، ويصل العقد إلى العامل عبر حسابه في قوى للأفراد للموافقة أو الرفض. فالعقد هنا خدمة إلكترونية لا ملف تُنزّله من موقع.
• عقد الإيجار: منصة إيجار، التابعة للهيئة العامة للعقار، هي مكان تسجيل وتوثيق عقود الإيجار السكنية والتجارية، والوسطاء العقاريون المرخصون ملزمون بتسجيل عقود الإيجار إلكترونياً عبرها، والعقد الموثق فيها هو المعتمد لإثبات العلاقة الإيجارية أمام الجهات الرسمية.
• التوثيق والوكالات: خدمة الموثق تحت إشراف وزارة العدل تتيح للأفراد والمنشآت إصدار الوكالات وفسخها وتوثيق التعاملات المالية والعقارية، ومنها توثيق عقد تأسيس شركة والإفراغ العقاري والإقرارات المالية، عبر بوابتها mwathiq.sa وتطبيقها دون زيارة كتابة العدل.

• السند لأمر: منصة نافذ، تحت إشراف وزارة العدل، تتيح إنشاء السندات التنفيذية وحفظها وإدارتها إلكترونياً، بدءاً بالسند لأمر الإلكتروني وفق نظام الأوراق التجارية، وهي مرتبطة بوزارة العدل ومحاكم التنفيذ.

• The employment contract: Qiwa, the platform of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, provides the employment contract documentation service, and documenting the contract through it is required of private-sector establishments. The establishment enters the contract details, wage, job title, term, and leave entitlements, and the contract reaches the worker through the Qiwa Individuals account for approval or rejection. The contract here is an electronic service, not a file you download from a website.
• The lease: Ejar, the platform of the General Real Estate Authority, is where residential and commercial lease contracts are registered and documented. Licensed real estate brokers are required to register lease contracts electronically through it, and the contract documented there is what officially proves the lease relationship before the authorities.
• Notarization and powers of attorney: the Mwathiq service, supervised by the Ministry of Justice, lets individuals and businesses issue and cancel powers of attorney and notarize financial and real estate transactions, including a company incorporation contract, a property transfer, and financial acknowledgments, through its portal mwathiq.sa and its app without visiting a notary office.
• Litigation and enforcement: Najiz is the Ministry of Justice portal for judicial services: filing lawsuits electronically, submitting memoranda, following hearings, plus enforcement requests, proof of payment, and seizure and release requests, alongside notarization services. Registration is through the Nafath national single sign-on.
• The promissory note: Nafith, supervised by the Ministry of Justice, allows creating, storing, and managing execution instruments electronically, starting with the electronic promissory note under the Commercial Papers Law, and it is connected to the Ministry of Justice and the enforcement courts.

A number of Saudi law firms publish contract templates on their sites, such as the contract templates page at Al-Abbadi Law Firm and the legal contract templates article at Alduwan Attorneys and Consultants. These are genuinely useful sources in their place: they show you the structure of a contract, the order of its clauses, and the terminology used, and they help you learn what a document should contain before you sit with your lawyer or before you pick a certified template.

The most honest warning about these templates is written by the firms themselves. The Alduwan page states plainly that using legal contract templates must be done consciously, not by copy and paste, stresses that a template is a starting point that needs review and adjustment before it is relied on, and cautions against leaning on a generic template in a high-risk transaction. Take that warning at face value: a freely published template exists to explain the structure, not to execute the deal.

• The last-updated date: a template with no date leaves you unsure which version of the law or regulation it reflects, and Saudi legislation has changed a great deal in recent years.
• The Saudi grounding: check that the text refers to the Labor Law, the Civil Transactions Law, the E-Commerce Law, and the Personal Data Protection Law, and not to another country's statute in its own terminology.
• An editable format: a Word file you can fill differs from an image or a locked PDF you retype by hand and mistranscribe.
• Language: is there an authoritative Arabic text? A contract submitted to or invoked before a Saudi authority needs Arabic wording, and a clause stating which text prevails on divergence.
• Who stands behind it: a clear name of a firm or a lawyer responsible for the text is different from an anonymous file passed around between sites.

The large international template sites such as LawDepot and Rocket Lawyer work on one logic: you pick a state or country from a supported list, and the document is shaped by that jurisdiction's law. For LawDepot that list is the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Ireland, and Rocket Lawyer primarily serves the United States and the United Kingdom with European expansion. Saudi Arabia is not on those lists. This is a jurisdiction observation, not a quality judgment: the product is strong at what it was built for, and what it was built for is not Saudi law.

As for AI drafting platforms, the one most visible in Saudi search results is Genie AI, which publishes Kingdom-targeted template pages on its genieai.co/en-sa domain. The platform describes its templates as compliant with the Saudi Labor Law, related ministerial resolutions, and Shariah principles, offers the template free to use with an AI contract assistant that generates a bespoke version, and states on the template page that it was reviewed by its in-house legal team. The interface and documents are primarily in English. This is a reasonable source for a quick English draft or for understanding a contract's structure before negotiating.

• النظام الواجب التطبيق وجهة الاختصاص: افتح آخر بنود المستند أولاً. إن كان يحيل إلى قانون ولاية أو دولة أخرى فأنت أمام عقد يحتاج إعادة تأسيس لا تعديل صياغة.
• المصطلحات النظامية: النص الصحيح للسعودية يستخدم أسماء الأنظمة والجهات كما هي: نظام العمل، منصة قوى، نطاقات، هيئة الزكاة والضريبة والجمارك، السجل التجاري، نظام حماية البيانات الشخصية.
• الإحالات الإجرائية: أي إشارة إلى إجراء أو جهة غير سعودية في بنود الإشعارات أو التسجيل أو فض النزاع تكشف أن النموذج مترجَم لا مصاغ للمملكة.

• Governing law and forum: open the final clauses first. If they point to another state's or country's law, you are looking at a contract that needs re-founding, not rewording.
• Regulatory terminology: text that is genuinely written for the Kingdom uses the real names: the Labor Law, the Qiwa platform, Nitaqat, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the commercial register, and the Personal Data Protection Law.
• Procedural references: any mention of a non-Saudi step or body in the notices, registration, or dispute clauses shows the template was translated rather than drafted for the Kingdom.
• The Arabic text: translating after the fact a document drafted for another environment carries over its phrasing without correcting its legal grounding.
• Updating: ask who refreshes the text when the law changes, and when the template in front of you was last actually updated.
